Casablanca

Probably the first disappointment of this trip. Casablanca was not what I expected at all. Could have been a poor choice of tour, but the ship's tour I chose was to the very large mosque and then around the old city.

I have awarded 3/10, mainly because of the number of stray cats, some of whom were visibley sick. Not a nice place, but some nice architecture.

Also, as a solo traveller, although with a tour, I didn;t feel particularly safe here.

The mosque was stunning.

Inside and outside were decorated with very ornate marble pillars and tiles everywhere.

It was absolutely huge inside, with an upper level (and escalator access) for the ladies of the parish.

The rest of the tour was rather underwhelming. Some nice old buildings and markets, but all in all not what I was expecting.

The movie was obviously shot elsewhere!!!

AGain, coould have been the tour choice, but would not reccomend as a solo destination.
